Mountain Village Photo Project
Gail is collecting unwanted film cameras that are in good working order for a ‘photo project’ involving school children in a mountain village in Morocco. Donations of camera film and batteries are also needed. The project has it's own website with lots more info - The Mountain Village Photo Project - Visit the link.
As the village does not yet have electricity, film cameras are, at the moment, the best option. Whilst the children will be given guidance throughout the project, to begin with Gail will encourage them to photograph their life and environment just as they see it. Eventually, the children will select favourite photographs for a small book as well as cards and postcards that will be sold to raise money for the schools and local village association. Clients on the ‘Mountain Village Experience’ with Responsible Photography Holidays may have an opportunity to help with the project. Updates will be posted on the MVPP website, facebook and twitter. A similar project with children in Rwanda is planned for the end of 2010. Donations, support or sponsorship for the projects would be really appreciated - or perhaps you can donate a recipe, or a photograph (must be one of your own!) to be used in a 'photo and food' book which will be sold on line to help with the project running costs.
‘Yallah Namchiouu’ Mountain Village Experience - especially for film lovers!
